Keep it Rolling
Volume 9, Number 10
Murder is a dirty business. Just ask experts in crime investigation - Reel Girls Media did. Crime writers often obtain some inspiration from learning true crime and cutting-edge criminal investigation techniques, so what better than to have crime professionals read new crime fiction and, armed with their training and experience, debate just how accurately the crime and forensic related aspects are depicted.
Watch crime pros dissect fictional crimes on "Booked" a new television book club now broadcasting on ACCESS, BookTelevision, Canadian Learning Television, and CourtTV Canada. On the show true crime professionals read hot new crime fiction novels and with their training and experience debate exactly how accurately the crime and forensic related aspects were depicted. The experts don't always agree and discussions are heated, humorous, and entertaining.
"Booked" is hosted by self-confessed murder mystery addict Fred Yackman, who leads the team through an in-depth dissection of a novel and its crime in each episode. The show also ventures into the field with working forensic experts to get a deeper look into the intriguing world of crime investigation.
"Booked" is produced by Ava Karvonen and Jennifer Snyder of Reel Girls Media with the welcome financial participation of ACCESS; BookTelevision; CourtTV Canada; Canadian Learning Television; Bravo!; the Alberta Film Development Program of the Alberta Foundation for the Arts; Canadian Film and Video Production Tax Credit Program; Bell Broadcast and New Media Fund; CanWest Western Independent Producers Fund and Rogers Telefund.
