Janice MacDonald is the creator of the Randy Craig mystery series (Turnstone Press).  She was born in Banff and grew up in Edmonton, where she still lives.  MacDonald earned a Masters degree from the University of Alberta for her thesis, Parody and Detective Fiction, and wrote the mystery column If Words Could Kill for the Edmonton Journal for many years. She presently teaches Communications, Creative Writing, Play Analysis and English Literature at Grant MacEwan College when not freelancing, writing or giving writing workshops.  She has two wonderful daughters, one glorious husband, several birds and a hamster.  In her dark past, she wrote and performed folk music, and is presently taking banjo and fiddle lessons.
