Dr. Felix Sperling is a Professor of Entomology and Biology at the University of Alberta, and the curator of the E.H Strickland Museum of Entomology. He is a past Professor at the University of California. He received his PhD in Entomology from Cornell University and his M.S. in Entomology from the University of Alberta. Dr. Sperling's field of expertise is insect systematics with an interest in molecular evolution, population genetics, biodiversity and conservation. His speciality is swallowtail butterflies and spruce budworm moths, insect pest complexes, phylogeny reconstruction, taxonomy, plant-insect interactions, internet-accessible faunal inventories and forensic entomology.
